The purpose for The CREW is to create positive relationships with those who are currently, or at risk of becoming, homeless. Today people are found living in cars or sleeping rough on the streets. We also assist families that are simply struggling to get by week by week.
At The CREW we pride ourselves in getting to know individuals and their challenges. This way we are able to see what we can offer them and direct them to the services we may know about that they don’t.
We provide a regular course in budgeting and financial issues, to help them to understand and take greater control of their financial situation. This CAPS Money Management courses is run from our CREW Building, which is open to the whole community, to assist in budgeting; this way their money issues don’t become their main focus in life, and they can start to live again.
One on one support counselling sessions enable individuals to explore their current situation and develop personal strategies to allow them to take back control of their life and feelings.
We also offer a group Drug and Alcohol counselling session on a Saturday morning. This includes sessions in the building and also trips to places of interest in order to stimulate the mind and soul.
This also gives us the opportunity to minister to people from all walks of life, showing them Jesus through our actions, our love and our heart for their situation at all moments of their journey.
The bible says;
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Mat 22:36-40 NLT
Loving them is the greatest thing as Christians we could do for them.
